In the negative, there are two ways to make the short form.
Both are correct:
- You’re not = You aren’t
- We’re not = We aren’t
- They’re not = They aren’t
- He’s not = He isn’t
- She’s not = She isn’t
- It’s not = It isn’t
Examples:
- I’m not going to have lunch.
- You’re not going to leave class early.
You aren’t going to leave class early. - We’re not going to spend lots of money.
We aren’t going to spend lots of money. - They’re not going to win the game.
They aren’t going to win the game. - He’s not going to understand.
He isn’t going to understand. - She’s not going to watch TV.
She isn’t going to watch TV. - It’s not going to be cloudy tomorrow.
