Hi students! We’re doing a special series called Word of the Day in May with daily videos to help you expand your vocabulary. Make sure to subscribe to my channel and my e-mail list so that you don’t miss a single video this month.
Today’s word is long-winded. Long-winded is an adjective describing a person who uses too many words when talking – they tend to talk for a long time, maybe adding lots of extra, unnecessary details and explanations.
Being long-winded is considered rather negative because someone like this can get boring to listen to; we’d prefer for them to get straight to the point.
Do you know anyone who is long-winded? I challenge you to try using this vocabulary word in your own sentence! That’s all for today – I’ll be back tomorrow with a new word of the day.
