What’s the FASTEST way to learn fluent English?

YouTube video

It’s the goal that every English learner dreams of… being FLUENT in English!

But what’s the fastest way to get there?

Today, I’m going to tell you my opinion and response to this question.

I believe that there is no “magic bullet” for English fluency.

That means there is NO secret and super-effective way to guarantee fluency very fast.

It’s true that there are different methods, and some are more effective than others.

For example, a course that helps you put things into practice is more effective than a course in which you just “learn about” English and you don’t learn to USE English.

Also, different methods will be more effective or less effective for different people. I personally do very well with memorization; other people hate memorization.

Some students can pick up English easily from informal conversations; other students prefer a more organized and structured method.

This is why there’s no “one-size-fits-all” way to learn English.

Remember that becoming fluent in English – or any language – is a long-term process. You’ll need to get good at ALL the areas of language (speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing). If any of those areas are missing, then you won’t be fluent.

So if anyone says they have “the secret” to instant fluency… don’t believe them!

However, there IS something you can do to improve your English faster.

It’s not a secret.

It’s not a new idea.

In fact, it’s simple to understand, but can be difficult to implement.

You will reach English fluency if you keep studying persistently over time – and don’t give up!

Think about a professional athlete – someone who is a master of their sport.

Did that person become a professional by using a “shortcut” or a “secret way” to learn all the skills within 6 months?

Instead, it took the athlete years of continuous practice, training, feedback from coaches, failures, and successes in order to reach a high level.

English learning is the same way.

The BEST thing you can do to become fluent is to invest time and effort in improving your English every day.

But… how? What should you study?

Well, there’s a lot of great free material online. From YouTube to the BBC, you can find plenty of pages on the internet that will help you learn English.

In fact, there’s so much stuff available that it can be confusing. You might not be sure where to start, what to focus on, and whether you’re really getting better at English.

That’s why I create courses at Espresso English – to give you a step-by-step way to improve your English and make real progress towards fluency – progress that you can be proud of.

The most popular course is Everyday English Speaking.

Why do students love this course so much?

Here’s what one student said. This is Mak, from India:

“I found the Everyday English Speaking Course to be one of the best. It covers such a wide range of topics – from simple things such as telephone conversations and ordering food at a restaurant to dealing with tricky situations such as how to complain politely and criticize diplomatically.

“In fact, it covered many topics that none of the other courses did. It definitely exceeded my expectation.

“What really sets it apart from others is that you get the opportunity to submit speaking assignments that the teacher evaluates and sends personalized feedback. This has been immensely valuable because it has helped me realistically assess my level of English and has boosted my confidence.

“This course has helped me a lot and I hope it helps you too.”

🙋‍♀️ Imagine being able to speak English confidently in any situation.
