Use the past simple to talk about finished actions in the past.
For regular verbs, the past simple negative is didn’t + infinitive:
I
You He She It We They |
didn’t(did not) | work |
Be careful to use the infinitive of the verb, not -ed:
- We didn’t worked yesterday.
- We didn’t work yesterday.
The past simple negative is the same for both regular and irregular verbs!
- I didn’t go to school last week because I was sick.
- Mary didn’t see John at the party.
- They didn’t buy any milk at the supermarket.
It’s very easy! 🙂
